"First drafts are for learning what one’s fiction wants him to say. Revision works with that knowledge to enlarge and enhance an idea, to reform it." – Bernard Malamud

Author Bio

I was born in New Brunswick, Canada and raised in Maine. In 2017, I returned to Edmundston where I now work as an assistant professor at the University of Moncton. I've never been a gifted academic writer. Creative writing, however, has been a passion of mine since childhood. As such, I chose to get my PhD in creative writing from the University of Pretoria.
My work has been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul. Later, I transitioned to surrealist and experimental work which has appeared in small journals including Crab Fat Magazine, Sein Und Werden, Good Morning Magazine, The Molotov Cocktail, Crack the Spine, and Everyday Fiction. I also co-edited an anthology of essays entitled Rape Culture 101: Programming Change, published by Demeter Press in 2020.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and have become a bit obsessed with Bernard Malamud's work. I share my cozy home with my wife and our four wonderful persian cats.
